Dr David Penn

Dr David Penn, BDS MBA, founded  Southern Cross in 1983 and is currently CEO and Head of Clinical and Technical Research. He also works in part time practice in Double Bay, NSW and teaches internationally on aesthetic dentistry and Invisalign.

His most recent developments have included the Penn Composite Stent, due for commercial release in February 2011, which is  a unique delivery system for producing morphologically idyllic injectable composite veneer restorations without tooth preparation.

Between 2008 and 2010, Dr Penn wrote a complete accreditation course in conjunction with Align Technology for the introduction of a realignment phase in aesthetic dentistry using the brilliant Invisalign system.

This state of the art ultra-conservative philosophy to aesthetic dentistry has gathered widespread acclaim for it’s predictability and non-invasive nature.

He has coined the phrases “green dentistry” and an “enamel neutral edict” to teach dentists how to adopt a more conservative approach to aesthetic dentistry.

He is currently developing a range of new generation TMD and sleep apnoea appliances with a team of dental sleep medicine experts and a series of chrome cobalt and titanium orthodontic expansion retainers.
