SCDL introduces new 2013 Rewards Program

Dear Customer,

Southern Cross Dental Laboratories (SCDL) is proud of the quality and range of technical and educational services it provides to its customers and appreciates their ongoing loyalty. In return, we continue to offer you the opportunity to utilise, and participate in, a selection of premier products and events as rewards in our unique loyalty program.

2013 sees us launch a new and improved Rewards Program, highlighted by:

  • an updated points earning system, where Reward Points are now earned per $200 spend (or part thereof);
  • a broader rewards mix with up to 15 exciting rewards, most redeemable multiple times; and
  • more benefits the more you spend, so your redemption capacity is not limited by your year-end status.

As of this Friday 19th April, the new program will officially take effect and all changes will be retroactively applied to your account from 1st July 2012, the commencement of your earning period. These changes will impact your points balance, status attained and available rewards, which each now have a Reward Points value. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with the updated program by visiting our informative new website at www.scdlab.com/rewards.

In line with the conclusion of the earning period, redemption will then open on 1st July 2013 via our Rewards Online Store.

In order for any points accumulated to be redeemable come 1st July, your account must be:

  1. Registered for the program by 31st May via our website,
  2. Paid up-to-date by 31st May, and
  3. Of minimum Bronze status by 30th June.

Should you have any queries about changes you see in your Virtual Practice Site as of this Friday, please visit our website at www.scdlab.com/rewards. Alternatively, contact our Rewards Program co-ordinator by email at rewards@scdlab.com.

Warm regards,

Southern Cross Dental Laboratories

SCDL says “No to Nickel”

To maintain the highest standards of biocompatibility and safety, porcelain bonding alloys containing Nickel are being removed as an option for any restorations at SCDL.

The economiser and standard level non-precious PFM crowns will now be nickel-free. The alloy used will be Wirobond 280 from Bego (see Material Safety Data Sheet available at the SCDL website).

Other gold coloured alloy crowns will now be fabricated using ArgencoY+, a Type III noble yellow alloy suitable for full-cast crowns and short-span bridges, that easily polishes to a high lustre at a very reasonable price.

In a recent interview, Dr David Penn, Head of Clinical and Technical Research at SCDL, said “Our society is afflicted by a growing incidence of allergies and more patients than we realise may be adversely affected by nickel – whether we realise it from a major reaction, or just low level reactions that add up on a daily basis. Given that nickel free bonding alloys are just as effective for bonding porcelain there is really no longer reason to offer nickel based alloys anymore. Our clinicians and technicians have reached an accord to ensure that our products will be at the forefront of biocompatibility for all Australians.”

For further information, please contact Dr Brenda Baker or Dr Albert Sharp at SCDL on (02) 9362-1177 or visit www.scdlab.com

Building on Invisalign’s G4 clinical features, Invisalign is introducing G4 Enhancements for upper lateral incisors and all premolars – available 25 February, 2013.

Invisalign’s G4 Optimised Root Control Attachments were originally designed for use on all canines and upper central incisors. As a result of Invisalign’s continued commitment to innovation, these features are now engineered for use on upper laterals and all premolars.

  • Optimised Root Control Attachments For Upper Lateral Incisors: Upper lateral incisors will have one Optimised Root Control Attachment placed on the buccal surface of the tooth and up to two pressure points will be placed on the labial and lingual aspects of the aligner to create the proper force system.
  • Optimised Root Control Attachments For Upper and Lower Premolars: Matching in appearance to the existing Optimised Root Control Attachments these clinical features are designed for providing greater mesio-distal root tip control and are now available for all premolars. These attachments will be placed on the buccal aspect of premolar teeth to create the proper force system.
