"Established in 1983, SCDL continues to offer incredible value for money across all our product ranges - including implants, splints, anti-snoring devices and metal restorations, as well as the latest in ceramics, e.g Ceramage and eMax CAD."
SCDL are delighted to introduce e.Max Thin Veneers - “Thins” - to our product range which complements our commitment to the “Green Dentistry” philosophy of lowest biological cost aesthetic dentistry. Thins are minimal thickness ceramic veneers (0.3 mm), which are seated using the adhesive technique and are principally indicated from an aesthetic point of view if there is, for example, a malposition or differences in length of the maxillary incisors. Thin veneers provide the advantage that they allow for no or minimal preparation to the tooth structure.
Thins are fabricated using the staining technique and consists of three ‘Value’ shades and two opal shades, the value shades are dentine and designed for altering discoloured teeth and increasing their brightness, the opal shades are really just enamel and are designed for re-contouring existing teeth where the patients shade is acceptable, say after a bleaching and can be made as full coverage or partial veneers.
In the fabrication of veneers, particularly thin veneers, translucency and opalescence play a role that is equally important to that of the tooth shade in order to attain the desired optical effects. With the two new IPS e.Max Press Impulse Opal ingots, the opalescent effect of natural teeth can be reliably mimicked, which is particularly desirable when fabricating anterior veneers.
